You’re doing all the things you “should” be doing to grow your list and generate leads–creating content, posting on social media, engaging in Facebook Groups, optimizing your website for SEO, getting interviewed on podcasts, building new lead magnets left and right.

You spend hours every day on this because you know that if you want to get more customers, you need to attract more leads.

But then a month goes by, and then another one…and suddenly six months have passed and you’ve gotten only a handful of new leads. 

It’s maddening, right? You thought the leads would come pouring in, but all you’re seeing is this tiny trickle that is NOT proportional to the amount of time you’ve spent on it. 

One of the most demoralizing situations to be in as a business owner is crafting truly great content and trying to share your message with the world—but not even hearing crickets in return. 

I’ll give you a quick example:

In early 2019, part of my own audience growth strategy was to contact podcasters in my niche and pitch being on their show. I reached out to five podcasters each week for two months before I got my first bite, and it was a big one.

A NYT bestselling author whose show got 50,000 downloads per episode enthusiastically agreed to feature me on one of his shows. I was convinced that “this is it”—that this is the big break that will change everything.

The day the episode aired, I prepared for the big influx of traffic. Finally I saw it—the tiniest traffic bump…97 new web visitors, to be precise,...26 of whom opted into my email list.

Two months of work for 26 email opt-ins.

A couple months later, I launched a campaign using the exact strategies inside the Accelerator, and within the first 7 days I had 112 new email subscribers…all from two hours of work and $105 in ad spend. 

The best part? Ten of those 112 new subscribers converted to clients.

The truth is that scaling your audience doesn’t have to be a slow and painful process.

When you properly leverage your resources (time and money), attracting your next 1,000 email subscribers doesn’t have to feel like pulling teeth.

Let’s be honest: Most business owners are terrified of Facebook Ads, usually because they can’t afford to flush money down the drain.

If you’re feeling a bit wary about spending on ads, it’s probably because you’ve tried running an ad campaign before, but you got little to no results—and you paid a lot for the results that you did get.

If you can commit to $10/day for two weeks ($140)—just to get started—you’ll get such good results that you’ll be wanting to spend $1,000/month on ads.

If you’re relying on social media to connect with your ideal customers, chances are that you’re spending hours each week creating and posting content, engaging in groups, and trying to keep up with 148 different DM conversations and comment threads.

Or, you’re spending that time avoiding social media because you’d rather wrestle with a lion mountain than spend all day on Facebook.

It’s hard enough to keep up with it all, much less figuring out whichever “hack” you’ve gotta use these days to “fool the algorithm” into showing your post to your friends and group members.

Along with the eternal question…Have I been shadowbanned?

Organic social media used to be the best way to connect with your ideal customers and generate leads, but organic reach has declined rapidly over the past few years, and that decline is only increasing in speed.

Put simply, organic reach is how many of your ideal customers you’re able to get in front of by posting and commenting on social media. These days, it takes more of everything—more content, more engagement, more work—to get the same results that you could’ve gotten two years ago with 10x less time and effort.
