Let’s face it: There are a million different ways you could grow your audience…
You could get interviewed on podcasts…write blog articles…optimize your website for SEO…post on social media every day…engage in groups…go to networking events…
The list is endless…
But it’s also overwhelming.
For about three years I did ALL the things. I was doing podcast interviews left and right, publishing content everywhere that content could be published, and spending HOURS every day on Facebook and LinkedIn.
I worked so hard that when I hit my first $20k month, my first thought was, “There’s no way I can turn around and do THAT again.”
In fact, I was so burnt out that the following month was my WORST month ever for sales.
At the same time, I knew that if I wanted to stay in business…to keep connecting with my ideal clients…I needed to do something.
So I tried to simplify the whole process…to figure out exactly how I could connect with WAY more ideal clients on a regular basis…but spend SO much less time and energy on it.
In other words: How could I get 10x better results while being 10x lazier?
In that process, I discovered that when it really comes down to it, there are only TWO ingredients you need to rapidly massively scale your audience:
#1: Your No-Brainer Opt-In Offer
Think of it as a type of lead magnet or freebie, but make it 100x more valuable, useful, and relevant to your ideal customers. Not just some generic ebook you created because some marketer or biz coach told you to.
Because it’s not about giving away too much or too little information…or about cramming everything you know into a 45-minute webinar. It’s about helping your ideal customers solve a super-specific issue…one that positions them as even more of an ideal customer than they were before they encountered it.
In other words…you’ve gotta have a free offer to bring people in…but it’s also gotta be something they ACTUALLY want.
#2: Your Rapid Traffic Mechanism
Once you have your opt-in offer dialed in and ready to go, it’s time to get it in front of your ideal customers, and you’ve gotta do it quickly and at scale.
It’s not just a matter of throwing it up on your website or posting about it on social media—it’s a matter of getting it in front of thousands of ideal customers today and tomorrow…not 9 or 12 months down the road.
Until you’ve gotten your opt-in offer in front of a lot of ideal customers, there’s really no way to know a) how appealing it is to them, or b) whether the people who opt into it ultimately end up converting to customers or clients.
Option A is to talk about your opt-in offer on social every now and then, hoping the algorithm gods look upon you with favor and actually show it to your social following. Maybe get interviewed on a podcast here and there, nervously searching for a moment in the conversation where you can plug your lead magnet. Or even pay a marketing agency thousands of dollars to optimize your website for SEO, where you’ll probably see results 9, maybe 12 months down the road.
All in all, you stand a good chance of getting in front of a couple thousand people over the next year.
Ooooor you can choose Option B, which is to implement a Rapid Traffic Mechanism, using a super simple (and cheap) ad strategy to get in front of a thousand people tomorrow, and every day thereafter.
But at the end of the day, scaling your audience really is that simple—you’ve gotta give your ideal customers a reason to enter your sphere of influence, and you’ve gotta make sure that plenty of your ideal customers are actually seeing that reason/offer in the first place.
